The 5th Annual Reception Honoring the Russian Delegation to the Breakbulk Americas 2015

On October 7, 2015, the USRCC hosted the 5th Annual Reception Honoring the Russian Delegation to the Breakbulk Americas 2015 Conference. The event was sponsored by  NEK Group and held in Four Seasons in downtown Houston.
More than 70 people attended the event. Keynote addresses were made by Andrew Pidgirsky, Board Chairman, USRCC; Hon. Alexander Zakharov, Consul General of the Russian Federation; John Moseley , Senior Director, Port of Houston Authority; Nikolay Belikov, Operations Director, JSC “NEK”; Ronald Brannigan, Senior Manager of Business Development, University Of Houston-Downtown; Rick Shannon, President, Atlantic Ro-Ro.
 
The Breakbulk Americas Conference draws companies from around the world with industry representatives from logistics, transportation, maritime, ports, in addition to foreign consuls and government officials.

2015 Annual Meeting

2015 Annual Meeting

On January 15th, 2015, the USRCC hosted its first event of the year – 2015 Annual Meeting in downtown Houston. We were honored to welcome our existing members and our friends. 

USRCC Chairman of the Board Andrew Pidgirsky shared last year’s success and focused on upcoming events for this year. The USRCC will host over 25 events in 2015 even further strengthening ties between the U.S. and Russian businesses. Vice President Aleksandra Efimova shared activities planned for the Midwest region in the upcoming year. President Piotr Galitzine made remarks about the current state of the U.S.-Russia trade and investment opportunities. The event was well received by all attendees and 2015 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the USRCC.

Ambassador Speaker Series:Dinner Honoring Ambassador T. R. Pickering

On March 5th the USRCC hosted the Reception and Dinner honoring Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering. The event was held in Four Seasons Hotel in Houston, TX.
 
Ambassador Pickering served as Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs (1997-2000) and as U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation, India, Israel, El Salvador, Nigeria, and Jordan. He also was the U.S. Ambassador and Representative to the United Nations in New York, where he led the U.S. effort to build a coalition in the UN Security Council during and after the first Gulf War.

Ambassador Pickering addressed to more than 120 guests on the future course of the U.S.-Russian bilateral relations and the importance of developing further cooperation between the U.S. and Russia.

2nd Senior Executive Speaker Series

2nd Senior Executive Speaker Series

On May 15, 2015, the USRCC hosted its 2nd Senior Executive Speaker Series luncheon with Igor Ignatiev, Deputy Chairman of Shell in Russia. The event was held in one of Houston’s premiere locations – Petroleum Club of Houston. Mr. Ignatiev addressed more than 100 guests on the topic of “Doing Business in Russia during turbulent times: A key to success” which was very well received by all attendees. Mr. Ignatiev also serves as a President of the Association of Communications Directors and Corporate Media of Russia and a member of the Expert Council of Russian Association of PR Companies, which gives him a unique perspective on the intricacies of doing business in both Russia and the United States, and he shared his expert knowledge with the audience. 

The event started with a keynote address made by a Houston mayoral candidate Mr. Adrian Garcia who shared his vision of the U.S.-Russia relations and stressed the importance of Houston as a major hub of the U.S. – Russia trade and international Business.

6th Annual Welcome Reception Honoring Russian and Kazakhstan Delegations to the Offshore Technology Conference 2015

On May 5th, the USRCC hosted its 6th Annual Welcome Reception honoring the Russian and Kazakhstan Delegations to the Offshore Technology Conference 2015. The event was held in ZaZa Hotel in Houston, TX.

More than 350 business executives and government officials from all over the World attended the event. Keynote addresses were made by Andrew Icken, Chief Development Officer of City of Houston, Hon. Alexander Zakharov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Houston, and Mario Ruscev, Chief Technology Officer, Baker Hughes.

USRCC Luncheon with Matthew Rojansky, Director of Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson International Center

On April 10th the USRCC hosted the luncheon with Matthew Rojansky, Director of Kennan Institute, Woodrow Wilson International Center. The event was held in Four Seasons Hotel in Houston, TX. 

Matthew Rojansky is an expert on U.S. relations with the states of the former Soviet Union, especially Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.  He has advised governments, intergovernmental organizations, and major private actors on conflict resolution and efforts to enhance shared security throughout the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian region.

Matthew addressed to more than 60 guests on the topic of “U.S.-Russia Relations, the New Normal?” which was very well received by all attendees. His remarks have sparked a lot of questions from the audience, which led to a fruitful discussion.
